There is a tendency in this society to assume that if something appears to be more complicated, more hi-tech, then the greater the appeal. And, the greater the appeal, the more faith there is in it. This certainly seems to be true of the search for cures for cancer. More and more money is being spent in more and more lavish laboratories on investigating more and more specific, small actions of the human body.
